We stand behind every sign we make.

30-Day Defect Guarantee

Every custom metal sign from Metal Marvel is backed by a 30-day defect guarantee. If your sign arrives with a manufacturing defect, we will replace it free of charge or refund you in full — whichever you prefer. No arguments, no hoops to jump through.

This guarantee covers errors in production, material flaws, and discrepancies between your approved preview and the finished product. It does not cover damage caused during shipping (see our shipping page for parcel damage claims), installation damage, or natural weathering of raw mild steel.

Custom-Made Policy

Under Australian Consumer Law, custom-made or personalised goods are generally not eligible for change-of-mind returns. Because every sign is cut specifically to your text, font, material, and size choices, we cannot resell it to another customer.

We strongly encourage you to review your design preview carefully before completing your purchase. If you notice an error in your order details within 24 hours of placing it, contact us immediately and we will do our best to intercept the production.

If you receive a sign that does not match your order due to our mistake — for example, the wrong material or an incorrect spelling that was not in your preview — report it within 7 days of delivery and we will make it right.

What Counts as a Defect

Incorrect cut

The laser path deviates from the approved design, resulting in missing or malformed characters.

Warping

The metal sheet is visibly bent or twisted in a way that prevents flat mounting.

Material flaw

Pre-existing cracks, pits, or inclusions in the metal that were not part of the raw finish character.

Wrong text

The finished sign contains text that does not match your approved preview due to our error.

How to Make a Claim

Refund Process

Timeline

Refunds are processed within 5–10 business days after approval, depending on your bank or card issuer.

Method

Refunds are always returned to the original payment method used at checkout.

Partial refunds

In rare cases where only part of an order is defective, we will issue a partial refund or replacement for the affected item only.

What is covered by the 30-day defect guarantee?

If your sign arrives with a manufacturing defect — such as an incorrect cut, warping, material flaw, or wrong text due to our error — we will replace it free of charge or issue a full refund within 30 days of delivery.

Can I return a sign if I change my mind?

Because every sign is custom-made to your specifications, we cannot accept change-of-mind returns under Australian Consumer Law for personalised goods. Please review your design carefully before ordering.

What counts as a manufacturing defect?

Defects include incorrect laser cuts, warped or bent metal, material flaws visible before installation, or text that does not match your approved preview due to our error. Surface rust on mild steel is a natural characteristic, not a defect.

How do I make a claim?

Email hello@metalmarvel.com.au with your order number, a description of the issue, and clear photos of the defect. We will assess your claim within two business days and advise the next steps.

How long do refunds take to process?

Once a refund is approved, it is returned to your original payment method within 5–10 business days. The exact timing depends on your bank or card issuer.

What if I ordered the wrong size?

Double-check the preview in our designer before confirming your order. If you believe the wrong size was sent due to our error, contact us within 7 days of delivery with photos and we will investigate.

Do I need to return the defective sign?

In most cases, yes. We will provide a prepaid return label or organise collection at our expense for confirmed defects. For minor issues we may ask for photos only and arrange a replacement without requiring return.

Does the guarantee cover installation damage?

No. Damage caused during drilling, mounting, or handling after delivery is not covered by our manufacturing guarantee. We recommend using appropriate tools and fixings for your wall material.
